Directions to Meiringskloof   -   From Johannesburg:  350 km

Meiringskloof is located in a kloof 1.7 km from Fouriesburg towards the closest mountains.


Johannesburg via N1, Sasolburg & Heilbron  

-Take the N1 towards Bloemfontein, turn off onto the R57 (Vereeniging, Sasolburg, Vanderbijlpark), carry on straight to Heilbron, travel through Heilbron on to Petrus Steyn, Reitz, Bethlehem, then take the R26 to Fouriesburg

OR
Johannesburg via  N3 to Heidelberg & Villiers

-Take the N3 to Heidelberg & Villiers;  just before the toll gate turn off onto  the R26 to Frankfort,  Tweeling,  Reitz, Bethlehem, then take the R26 to Fouriesburg

In case the R26 / Fouriesburg signs in Bethlehem are missing:
When coming in from Reitz side with Hospital Str, go past Wimpy and Nando’s (on your left) and at the 4-way Stop turn right into Eeufees which becomes Kerk Str, carry on past the church (on your right),
 turn left just before the KFC into Commissioner Str. This is the R26.

About 45 km further take the first turn-off left into Fouriesburg.
Follow the Meiringskloof sign boards
–left into Steyn Street; and all the way to the end of Steyn Street;
–left onto the dirt road, left again in front of Glen Skye.                                                                               The dirt road ends 1,7 km further in Meiringskloof.

Directions to Meiringskloof  -  From Bloemfontein 

Meiringskloof is located in a kloof 1.7 km from Fouriesburg.

Bloemfontein, Thaba Nchu, Ladybrand, Ficksburg, Fouriesburg ( 250 km).

From Bloemfontein take the N8 to Thaba Nchu and Ladybrand, from there  the R26 to Ficksburg and Fouriesburg.   Beautiful scenery for day-time travelling once past Tweespruit. 

Just before Fouriesburg take the turn-off to the right to Clarens (the R 711) and a hundred metres or so further the turn-off left into Fouriesburg. 

Carry straight on through Fouriesburg until you get to Steyn Street.
–Turn right into Steyn Street;all the way to the end of Steyn Street
–Left onto the dirt road, left again in front of Glen Skye
–The dirt road ends 1,7 km further in Meiringskloof.

Or
Bloemfontein, Senekal, Bethlehem, Fouriesburg ( 290 km)
(Longer in km but probably the route with the biggest / fastest roads)

Take the N1 to Johannesburg, go past Winburg and turn-off onto the N5 to Senekal, Paul Roux, Bethlehem, then take the R26 to Fouriesburg. The R26 goes out of Bethlehem via Commissioner Street past Loch Athlone.

About 45 km further take the first turn-off left into Fouriesburg.

Directions to Meiringskloof   -   From Welkom / Virginia area

Meiringskloof is located in a kloof 1.7 km from Fouriesburg.

Directions given from Ventersburg:

Ventersburg, Senekal, Paul Roux, Bethlehem, Fouriesburg  

From Ventersburg take the R70 to Senekal (be careful – lots of potholes !) from Senekal the road is the N5 and in good condition, proceed with the N5 to  Paul Roux  and  Bethlehem, from there take the R26 to Fouriesburg / Ficksburg.

The R26 goes out of Bethlehem with Commissioner Street  - KFC will be on your right and later on Loch Athlone on your left.

About 45 km further take the first turn-off left into Fouriesburg.
Follow the Meiringskloof sign boards
–left into Steyn Street; and all the way to the end of Steyn Street;
–left onto the dirt road, left again in front of Glen Skye.
–The dirt road ends 1,7 km further in Meiringskloof.
